The Glass

Protecting the beautiful dial and hands is the job of the scratch resistant sapphire crystal glass, treated with an internal anti-reflective coating which reduces glare. We exclusively use sapphire crystal (instead of mineral crystal or hardened plastic) because sapphire offers the greatest protection for your watch, being harder and much more scratch proof than mineral glass. All of the high-end Swiss brands use sapphire crystal, it's the only option for quality. The date magnification window, located next to the crown, sits atop the sapphire glass, mounted to increase the date display for effortless reading. The anti-reflective coating, applied to the inside of the glass, gives off a blueish tint when the watch is held at a certain angle, this is known as the blue-effect in certain circles. When choosing a Swiss timepiece, always insist on sapphire crystal glass, it will outperform the other options and convey the quality you expect.
